Here are some of my favorite ways to decorate a cozy fall home.
Neutral Fall Decor With Vases

Simple vases are a great way to start decorating for fall. Here, I chose muted golden amber glass vases in a variety of textures and sizes. One of the vases sits on a wooden riser, and I added neutral cream florals to each. A small, muted brown pumpkin sits in between the vases. I styled them on our fireplace mantel, but they would look just as pretty on a shelf or console. Everything stays neutral and warm while still having that fall look.
Neutral vases, such as a stone-textured vase, are a great option to keep out year-round. The golden yellow floral stems in this one are perfect for fall, and faux stems are easy to swap out as the seasons change. For the holidays, you could add cream or muted orange pumpkin picks to this vase. A neutral cream pumpkin also sits on top of the wooden candlestick holder, and the vase rests on Homebody by Joanna Gaines. Books are another easy way to add a layer of interest to any space. Together, these pieces complete this shelf for a neutral fall look.

Notice how the same stone-textured vase holds greenery stems with a pumpkin pick. I also added the neutral white pumpkin picks to another neutral-colored vase, since I love having neutral vases throughout our home. A green velvet ribbon adds one more simple decor element, and when it’s time for the holidays, swapping in new stems is a breeze.
The neutral cream fluted vase holds realistic greenery stems with orange berry picks. The vase stays neutral while the berries add a hint of orange for fall.
You may choose a fall color, such as amber glass vases, or a more neutral vase with faux florals. It really depends on the look you want to achieve. Each vase has its own style, yet all of them bring a timeless look to your fall decor.
Neutral Fall Pumpkin Decor Ideas

Another simple idea is to place cream or deeper orange pumpkins on candlesticks or wooden risers. Notice how the wood tones are perfect for the fall season. I also added fall berry candlestick wreaths to the neutral pumpkins, which gives this setting extra elevation and warmth. Everything stays neutral, with just a few muted orange berries on the wreaths. You can display these on a fireplace mantel or a shelf, or use them as a table centerpiece. If you go with a centerpiece, I recommend adding more candlesticks of various heights and a few more pumpkins.
Fall Kitchen Decor Ideas

Next, we have a bit of fall decor for the kitchen. This is our kitchen table, where a neutral stone vase sits on a table runner. I chose a white runner with hints of orange, then added mini real pumpkins and neutral pumpkin-themed salt and pepper shakers. Notice how one of the pumpkins sits on a small wooden riser. I kept the decor simple while still adding simple fall charm to our kitchen table.
Don’t Forget The Fall Wreath

Don’t forget the front door wreath! A fall wreath is a simple way to welcome guests and carry your neutral fall decor outside. Here, I chose a wreath with cream florals, muted orange, and soft golden tones. Notice how the warm wood tones and neutral colors keep the look simple while still feeling like fall. I hung it on our front door with a wreath hanger, but a wreath would also look pretty on a window, a wall, or an entryway mirror. For a little more color later in the season, you could add small pumpkins, a fall berry pick, or a plaid ribbon.
Final Thoughts On Fall Home Decorating
Decorating for fall is fun, but the season can be long. It’s great to start with a few simple pieces in early fall and then transition to more pumpkin decor in the later weeks. You can add color with more floral stems, pumpkin or berry floral picks, or larger pumpkins. When shopping for decor, I find most of our pieces at Michaels, Hobby Lobby, World Market, HomeGoods, or Target. Secondhand stores are also a great place to look for items like vases and wooden decor. I hope I’ve inspired you with some fall ideas for your home. Now it’s your turn to get creative and start decorating your home for fall!
